Description du poste

Summary

Half designer. Half builder. Fully dangerous. We're looking for a Design Engineer who closes Figma and opens a code editor in the same breath.

The studio

++addmore is a product launch studio based in Belgium. We help startups get clear on what they're selling and why it matters. From positioning and messaging all the way to banger websites and product launches.

We've worked with 100+ SaaS startups and scale-ups across Europe, and we know the drill: great product, unclear story and brand, slow growth. That's the gap we close. Whether you need to nail your narrative, get to market fast, or run focused experiments to move a key metric.

\"The designer becomes a builder. You're the first chapter of that story.\"

This isn't a choose-your-side situation. As a full-time Design Engineer at our studio you sit exactly where design meets engineering. You design things in Figma, then you bring them to life in code. Or you skip the handoff entirely and build straight in Claude Code. Either way, you ship.

What you'll do
  • Design it, then build it: Figma to working prototype in Claude Code, Cursor, or whatever is sharpest that month. Some weeks you skip Figma entirely and build straight in code

  • Work AI-native, not AI-dependent: AI writes a lot of the code and generates a lot of the visuals. You're the one who checks it for quality, security, accessibility and maintainability before it goes anywhere near a client. Shipping unreviewed output is the fastest way to lose trust, and we don't do it

  • Make interfaces move: Smoothest motion straight in code. Interaction is part of the design, not decoration bolted on after

  • Build the tools we work with: Internal tools, automations, workflow shortcuts. If something gets done manually three times, you'll want to fix it

  • Prototype for real people: Interactive showcases that make design intent tangible, then usability testing with actual end customers to find out if you were right

  • Bring the room with you: Run workshops, share what you find, be loud about your process. The playbook is being rewritten weekly and we all move faster when you narrate

What we look for
  • Style first: That's usually where it starts. Show us something that made you proud

  • Hungry: AI tools rewrite the playbook daily. You're already paying attention

  • Ownership: You don't wait to be told what's next. You figure it out

  • Clear communicator: You can explain what you made and why. Rarer than you'd think

You don't need to tick every box. Genuine interest already puts you ahead. We care far more about how you think and what you make than about which software you know today.

What this isn't
  • Not a ticket queue. There's no backlog waiting for you

  • Not a place to specialise into a corner. You'll touch brand, product, code, motion

  • Not slow. Some things ship the same week they're briefed

The team

You'll work alongside people who think the way you do. You'll report to the Design Lead and grow somewhere experimenting is expected, not exceptional.

What's in it for you
  • You'll ship things people actually see and use

  • You'll work with the newest AI tools before most designers have heard of them

  • Design Engineer is the most wanted profile on the market right now. You'll leave with proof

  • A team that's curious, craft-obsessed and allergic to fluff

  • You'll build things worth showing, and we'll help you frame them the right way

One last thing

Half the industry is telling designers that AI is coming for this job. I think it did the opposite. It made the volume free and left taste as the only thing that's still scarce.

Which means the people with real taste are about to have the best few years of their career.

If that reads as exciting rather than terrifying, we should talk.

How this goes

Everyone we hire does a test case. No exceptions, including the people we already like.

  1. A call. Thirty minutes with the founder or Jens. No deck, no prep, just your work and how you think

  2. The test case. A non-existing startup brief, and you take it into one concept direction. Max 8 hours

  3. We go through it together. Your reasoning, your thinking. What you'd change, what you'd cut, what you'd fight for. This conversation tells us more than the CV ever could

  4. Decision. Fast, either way

A portfolio shows us what you made with someone else's feedback loop. The test case shows us what you create in the startup ecosystem.
