DEME Group is seeking a Deck Foreman Trainee for Fallpipe/Stone dumping vessels to learn how to build up the fallpipe and execute offshore activities. You will work with the deckhand team and aim to become a Deck Foreman supervisor in the future.

You will coordinate build-up, operation, and break-up of the fallpipe system, motivate the crew, and ensure safety and efficiency on deck while following procedures and instructions.

Qualifications

• Engineering or technical education preferred; can be substituted with experience.
• Hands-on professional with a practical mindset.
• Willing to learn to guide a team safely and efficiently in offshore environment.
• Lead by example, communicate clearly, remain calm under pressure.
• Interest in coordinating people, maintaining discipline, ensuring work is done correctly, safely and on time.
• Computer literacy to work with company software systems.

Responsabilités

• Under supervision of the Deck Foreman, you co-ordinate the build-up, operation, and break-up of the fallpipe system
• You motivate the crew during all deck operations
• You ensure the deck activities are carried out safely, efficiently, according to procedures and instructions
• You act as point of contact between the deck crew and vessel officers
• You familiarize with the company’s VMS, risk assessments and work procedures
• You create work permits in our software system Maximo
• You take part in promoting the shipping company's policies on safety and environmental protection
• You monitor working conditions and intervene proactively to prevent unsafe situations on deck
• You plan and assign daily tasks, you ensure adequate manpower and clear instructions
• You report any unsafe practices to the officer on duty and attempt to rectify them
• You maintain good order, cleanliness, and readiness of the deck and the equipment
• You participate in all training programmes and drills as directed
• You adhere to requirements of all applicable manuals of the fallpipe
• You contribute to a positive working atmosphere and strong teamwork on board

As a Deck Foreman Trainee on our Fallpipe vessels or Stone dumping vessels, you learn how to build up the fallpipe, in order to execute our offshore activities in good order. You work together with the deckhand team. You are interested in becoming a supervisor and become a Deck Foreman in the future.

Your profile

• By preference, you followed an engineering or technical education, or can replace this by experience
• You are a hands-on professional with a practical mindset
• You feel at home on deck and want to learn how to guide a team safely and efficiently in a demanding offshore environment
• You lead by example, communicate clearly, and remain calm under pressure
• While you understand the equipment and operations on board, your future strength lies in coordinating people, maintaining discipline, and ensuring work is done correctly, safely, and on time. Flexibility, responsibility, and a strong safety awareness are key parts of who you are.
