Job summary

Pauwels Consulting is seeking a highly skilled data scientist to join the Manufacturing Science & Technology team in Belgium. You will transform complex manufacturing and laboratory data into structured datasets, build data models and pipelines, and develop ML solutions for process monitoring and optimisation.

Responsibilities include applying computer vision to biological images, creating predictive models, automating data prep, and delivering clear dashboards for process teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in image analysis or computer vision.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Experience in data modelling and data pipelines.
• Experience with time-series analysis and feature engineering.
• Experience in computer vision and deep learning (OpenCV, PyTorch or TensorFlow).
• Hands-on experience with a visualisation tool such as Power BI, Spotfire or Tableau.
• Knowledge of bioprocessing or cell culture is a strong asset.
• Familiarity with GMP and data integrity is a plus.
• Fluent in English and French.
