Job summary

Dataroots is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to design and operate scalable data platforms across teams of data engineers, analysts and scientists. You’ll own cloud resources, tooling and standards with emphasis on DataOps and MLOps to deliver robust, production-ready solutions.

Join a diverse team in Leuven/Ghent with on-site client work and flexible remote options. You’ll shape data ecosystems that empower faster, safer data-driven decisions across multiple sectors.

Qualifications

• Expertise in data engineering and cloud engineering.
• Proficiency building ELT pipelines with Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, Spark, dbt, or related tools.
• Strong software engineering skills: Git, Python, SQL.
• Experience with cloud infra: Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with platforms like Databricks, Snowflake or Azure/AWS data services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable data platforms for teams of data engineers, analysts and scientists.
• Balance performance, cost and reliability while enabling data governance and observability.
• Own infrastructure, tooling and standards for DataOps and MLOps ready platforms.
• Collaborate across Leuven/Ghent offices and client sites with a diverse team.

You take ownership of the underlying infrastructure, tooling, and standards that make data work at scale, balancing performance, cost and reliability. From cloud resources and orchestration to data governance and observability. Where you’ll work Our main offices are in Leuven and Ghent, with co-working spaces in Charleroi and Antwerp. These spaces are perfect for both focusing and unwinding with colleagues, as well as brainstorming sessions and team events. While much of your work can be performed remotely, you will also work on-site with clients.
