Data Wizards in Brussels is seeking a Data Engineer to design and maintain data pipelines, enabling clients to turn raw data into insights. You will collaborate with analysts, scientists and business stakeholders across multiple projects in a consulting setup.

The ideal candidate has 1–6 years in data engineering, strong SQL/Python skills, and hands-on cloud/ETL experience (Databricks, Airflow, dbt, Azure Data Factory). A passion for data and AI helps you thrive here.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, data or a related technical field.
• 1–6 years of experience in Data Engineering or a related role, ideally in a consulting environment.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks, Airflow, dbt, or Azure Data Factory.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD practices.
• Familiarity with Spark and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Cosmos DB) a plus.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling (star schema) a plus.
• Being able to use AI assistant coding tools is a plus.
• Native Dutch/French speakers with fluent English.

Responsabilités

• Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines for actionable insights.
• Support ingestion, transformation, and exposure of data across sources and systems.
• Develop and optimize data processing using SQL, Python, and orchestration tools.
• Work on a cloud-based data stack (storage, processing, managed services).
• Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to translate needs.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, traceability, and monitoring across platforms.
• Contribute to data modeling and architecture decisions for scalable systems.
• Document data flows, pipelines, and solutions for knowledge sharing.
• Stay curious about emerging data and AI technologies and bring ideas.
