Darwind is seeking a Data Engineer in Belgium to design and maintain scalable data infrastructure used by IT and business teams. You will build ETL/ELT pipelines, ingest data batch and real-time from multiple sources, and optimize data models and warehouses for analytics.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, data engineering, IT or related field.
• At least 4 years of experience as a Data Engineer in an IT environment.
• Proficient in Python and SQL with solid experience building data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with ETL or ELT tools.
• Familiarity with big data tools.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Strong systems thinking, problem solving and clear documentation.
• Fluent in Dutch; French is a plus.

• Design, build and maintain scalable ETL and ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Set up and manage batch and real-time data ingestion from multiple sources.
• Build and optimise data models and data warehouses to support analytics and reporting.
• Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP to deploy and scale data infrastructure.
• Implement monitoring, alerting and quality checks to keep pipelines and data reliable.
• Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists and stakeholders to understand data needs.
• Optimize performance, scalability and cost efficiency of existing data systems.
• Document architecture, workflows and technical decisions clearly.
• Stay up to date with new tools, frameworks and best practices in data engineering.
