Job summary

ThoughtLabs Belgium is seeking a senior data and BI engineer to design and optimize enterprise data warehousing and analytics solutions. You will leverage SAP BO, SAP Data Services, and modern BI tools to deliver scalable dashboards and analytics across the organization.

Expertise in dimensional modelling, data lake/lakehouse patterns, and cloud architectures (Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Redshift) is required, with excellent English communication and French as an asset.

Qualifications

• University degree in IT with at least 10 years of IT experience.
• At least 10 years of hands-on SAP Business Objects experience.
• At least 8 years of SAP Data Services experience.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise data warehouse design including dimensional modelling and star/snowflake schemas.
• Deep knowledge of relational databases for data warehousing.
• Proficiency in SQL and PLSQL.
• Experience with BI reporting/analytics tools (SAP BO, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik) for dashboards and self-service analytics.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools (SAP Data Services, Informatica, Talend, dbt, Azure Data Factory).
• Knowledge of non-relational databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Hadoop HBase) is a plus.
• Knowledge of SAP BO universe design and SAP BO admin.
• Knowledge of data lake and lakehouse patterns (Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg) is a plus.
• Knowledge of data modelling tools.
• Knowledge of OLAP and data mining tools.
• Knowledge of cloud BI architectures (Azure Synapse, Snowflake, AWS Redshift) is a plus.
• Excellent command of English; French will be considered as an asset.

Requirements

• University degree in IT combined with relevant IT professional experience of at least 10 years;
• At least 10 years of practical experience with SAP Business Objects is required;
• At least 8 years of practical experience with SAP Data Services is also Required;
• Excellent knowledge of enterprise data warehouse design and architecture, including dimensional modelling and star/snowflake schema design;
• Excellent knowledge of relational database systems applied to data warehousing;
• Excellent knowledge of SQL and PLSQL;
• Excellent knowledge of BI reporting and analytics tools (e.g., SAP Business Objects, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik) for enterprise dashboards and self-service analytics;
• Excellent knowledge of ETL and ELT tools (e.g., SAP DataServices, Informatica, Talend, dbt, Azure Data Factory) to manage enterprise data pipelines;
• Knowledge of non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Hadoop HBase) for handling unstructured and semi-structured data would be an asset;
• Knowledge of SAP BO universe design and SAP BO admin;
• Knowledge of data lake and lakehouse design patterns (e.g., Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg) to support large-scale analytics would be an asset;
• Knowledge of modelling tools to design data models;
• Knowledge of OLAP technologies and data mining tools;
