Bluecrux is seeking a Data Engineer to bridge business and technology by integrating Axon™ software into client ecosystems. You will develop a data integration framework feeding a graph model for digital twin supply chains and collaborate with clients to ensure seamless data ingestion.

The role emphasizes handling big data, developing new features, and optimizing pipelines, with cross-functional teamwork and a 50/50 hybrid model in Mechelen.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field; Master’s is a plus.
• 2–3 years of data engineering experience, ideally in a cloud-based environment and/or on product platforms.
• Proficient in ETL processes and strong understanding of big data principles.
• Skilled in Scala or PySpark, and tools like Azure Synapse and/or Databricks.
• Hands-on experience with modern system design practices and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Fluent in English and strong communication skills.

As a Data Engineer, you play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business and technology, ensuring the seamless integration of our Axon™ software into our clients' tech ecosystems. Your primary responsibilities include:

• Contribute to the Data Integration Framework: Develop and enhance a robust framework that feeds into a graph data model for the digital twin of large industrial supply chains.
• Work with Complex Supply Chains: Collaborate with clients managing large and intricate supply chains, ensuring the seamless integration of data from various sources into the graph model.
• Handle Big Data: Manage, process, and optimize performance for large-scale datasets, ensuring the system can handle the demands of big data environments.
• Develop New Features: Lead the development of new features for the data integration framework, contributing to the growth and adaptability of the system.
• Manage Data Integration Projects: Oversee the data integration tracks within Axon projects, ensuring objectives are met, and maintain clear documentation to support collaboration and future reference.
• Write High-Quality Code: Ensure clean, maintainable, and efficient code that meets the needs of both internal and external users, enhancing the overall user experience and functionality.
• Optimize Pipeline Performance: Continuously improve the data pipeline to reduce processing times, improve throughput, and ensure scalability for future growth.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work alongside cross-functional teams, including solution experts, software engineers, data scientists, and analytics specialists, throughout the entire development lifecycle, from conception to testing.

About you

• You hold a Bachelor´s degree in Information Technology or a related field. A Master´s degree is a plus.
• You bring 2-3 years of experience in data engineering, ideally within a cloud-based environment and/or on product platforms.
• You are proficient in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and have a strong understanding of big data principles.
• You are skilled in Scala or PySpark, and tools like Azure Synapse and/or Databricks.
• You have hands‑on experience with modern system design practices and a solid understanding of source control, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• You enjoy exploring new technologies, staying updated with the latest trends, and understanding the functional side of things.
