Wood is seeking a Welding QA/QC professional for an Ineos Project One site. The role focuses on reviewing subcontractor welding/NDT procedures, performing witness and surveillance checks, and ensuring proper record-keeping and traceability of materials.

Key requirements include IIW/CSWIP/PCN and ISO9712 NDT qualifications, strong welding engineering background with EN1090/AMSE B31.3 knowledge, and experience with PED for piping. Long-term or fixed contract in a multinational environment.

Qualifications

• International current certifications for IIW; PCN or CSWIP.
• II level NDT qualification per ISO 9712 is required.
• Proven welding engineering background with EN standard AMSE B31.3 knowledge.
• Experience with EN1090 and PED for piping is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Review and comment subcontractor welding/NDT procedures and qualifications.
• Perform witness, inspection and surveillance checks on welding/NDT subcontractor performance.
• Ensure all inspection activities are recorded in the records.
• Monitor QC/inspection resources to meet quality standards per project.
• Issue status and trend reports; suggest improvements to welding/NDT activities.
• Record deficiencies and liaise with Wood supervisor for rectifications.
• Identify material deficiencies and initiate non-conformance processes as needed.
• Verify materials meet project codes and specs; support QC turnover.

Over de functie

• Review and comment subcontractor welding/NDT procedure & qualifications (i.e. welders lists, NDT operator lists, welding consumables management procedure, piping/structural steel certificates, material traceability procedure, Welding Summary List and Welding traceability Reports, etc)
• Perform witness, inspection & surveillance checks and assess continually Welding/ NDT subcontractor’s performance
• Ensure that all inspection activities are recorded in the appropriate records.
• Ensuring quality of the work for compliance with CQCP, approved ITP’s/ procedures and standards within assigned areas
• Monitor Subcontractors QC resource levels to achieve quality standards according to agreed ratio
• Issue status and trend reports as necessary and requested by Site Management providing suggestions on how to improve quality of welding/ NDT activities
• Record deficiencies and/or incomplete works on punch items and liaise with Wood supervisor/ superintendent to expedite necessary rectification
• Identify and document Subcontractor and Supplier quality deficiencies and initiate non-conformance process as required.
• Verify that materials used are in accordance with project technical documents and applicable codes and specifications.
• Support QC/ turnover team for collecting relevant QC records

Required Experience/Qualification

• Be in possession of international current certifications for the role in compliance with IIW; PCN or CSWIP.

• Be fully conversant with EN standard and AMSE (B31.3) code requirements and have a solid and demonstrated background on welding engineering (e.g. multiple days courses by internationally recognized institutes)
• Previous experience in application of EN1090 (structural steel) and Pressure Equipment Directive PED (for piping) would be preferable.
