Configuration Manager – EBOM / MBOM

We are looking for an experienced Configuration Manager to join a long-term industrial engineering project in Belgium.

The position focuses on managing and controlling product configuration throughout the engineering and manufacturing lifecycle, ensuring that technical and industrial data remain consistent, traceable and properly controlled as the product evolves.

Depending on your background, your scope may be more oriented toward Engineering BOM (EBOM) or Manufacturing BOM (MBOM).

Your role

You will coordinate configuration and change management activities between engineering, architecture, quality, production and industrial teams.

You will be responsible for maintaining clear configuration baselines, managing product and process changes, assessing their impact and ensuring that all modifications are properly documented, validated, versioned and traceable.

You may also coordinate Change / Configuration Control Boards (CCB) involving the different stakeholders responsible for product definition and industrialisation.

EBOM-oriented scope

Your focus will be on maintaining consistency between the product design and its configuration within PLM systems.

You will manage product baselines, follow and coordinate change requests, analyse the impact of technical modifications and ensure consistency between engineering definitions and technical data.

MBOM-oriented scope

Your focus will be on the manufacturing and industrial configuration of the product.

You will structure and maintain manufacturing configuration data, follow production and process changes, support industrial transfer projects and ensure consistency between engineering definitions and the needs of production and assembly.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with previous experience in Configuration Management, Product Configuration, PLM, Industrialisation or Manufacturing Configuration within a complex industrial environment.

Hands‑on experience with at least one major PLM solution such as Windchill, Teamcenter or ENOVIA is particularly important.

You should be comfortable working with multidisciplinary stakeholders and coordinating changes across engineering, quality, production and industrial teams.

Experience with configuration baselines, change requests, impact analysis, BOM management, version control and technical traceability will be highly valuable.

For MBOM-oriented profiles, previous exposure to production environments, assembly lines, industrial processes or industrial transfers will be particularly relevant.

For EBOM-oriented profiles, experience working closely with engineering teams, technical product definitions and product lifecycle configuration will be especially valuable.

The environment

This is a coordination and configuration management position rather than a design role. The role is primarily office-based and requires strong analytical, organisational and stakeholder‑management skills.

You will work in a technically demanding industrial environment where configuration control, documentation quality and traceability are critical.

The project offers a long-term collaboration and can be considered under either a permanent or freelance arrangement.
