CNH Industrial Group in Belgium seeks an experienced electro-mechanical design engineer to design, develop and validate low-voltage components such as electric actuators and motors for off-highway mobile applications. You will apply established development processes from concept through production, adjusting designs as required.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, document requirements, and contribute to energy optimization and system validation throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in electro-mechanical component development (actuators/motors) including electrical design and interfaces.
• 1+ year in authoring product specifications.
• 1+ year in electrical component testing with nationally accredited labs.
• 1+ year of project management experience.

Job Purpose

Design, develop, and validate low-voltage electromechanical components—such as electric actuators and electric motors—along with related products, assemblies, and systems for off-highway mobile applications. Utilize established development processes from concept through production, making necessary modifications as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead component engineering for the electro-mechanical components, specifically electric actuators including research, development, and evaluation of design concepts based on requirements for various AG and CE applications.
• Technically evaluate new and existing designs for appropriate functionality and the ability to pass all relevant validation tests.
• Document component requirements in technical specifications for new design and current product applications.
• Develop, review and report component design validation plans (DVP & DVPR), and support vehicle level tests.
• Utilize prototypes as needed to validate new designs and subsystems.
• Document functional specification for the component including integration with vehicle.
• Analyze and optimize the energy flow within a system.
• Create and update documentation including design quality procedures, DFMEAs, test specifications, through all phases of the product development.
• Implement 8D, 5 Why and Kaizen processes for problem solving, specifically for root cause analysis.
• Lead technical discussions with suppliers through the different stages of product development.
• Facilitate and support component related technical discussions between cross-functional teams including-engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, supplier quality, etc.
• Participate in reviews of schematics, design reviews, DMUs, and hardware requirements that impact component design.
• Understand the purpose, application, and feasibility of current global product development process, hardware process for new product and quality resolution.
• Support in the enhancement of existing products or processes.

Experience Required

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in development of electro-mechanical components like electric actuators and electric motors - including electrical design, mechanical interfaces, and control.
• Minimum 1 year experience in authoring product specifications
• Minimum 1 year experience with electrical component testing with nationally accredited laboratories.
• Minimum 1 year of project management, managing multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering with a strong electro-mechanical design background.
• Good understanding of EMC in electronics.
• Experience with ProE/CREO (or other MCAD SW like Unigraphics or Catia)
• Experience with Automotive Environmental Validation requirements and test procedures for electrical and electronic components
• Experience with Teamcenter or other Product Lifecycle management tools and Digital Mockup Environments
• Experience with CAN vehicle communications (i.e. J1939, ISO11783)
• Experience working with Off-Highway/On-Highway vehicles
• Experience with MS Office
