MindCapture is offering a consultancy role on-site with a client in Belgium, focusing on commissioning leadership for a major facility. You will coordinate across facility, process and utility systems to ensure safe, timely handover to operations, with rigorous testing and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• Ten to fifteen years of industrial project experience with significant commissioning responsibility in regulated industries.
• Proven commissioning leadership in major facility or process line.
• Experience with installation, qualification, and performance qualification workflows.
• Strong knowledge of factory and site acceptance testing sequences and commissioning documentation.
• Understanding of interactions between HVAC, electrical, process and control systems.
• Ability to operate across multiple engineering disciplines and identify cross functional risks.
• GMP experience in regulated environments is required.
• Familiarity with nuclear licensing and radiation protection constraints is a plus.
• Comfort coordinating multiple contractors and stakeholders without formal authority.

Responsabilités

• Own master commissioning sequence, system acceptance order, milestones and handover gates.
• Coordinate with project planning to integrate commissioning activities into the project schedule.
• Manage dependencies across building, utility, process and control systems and identify risks.
• Lead cross system testing and ensure tests reflect operating conditions before handover.
• Coordinate project stakeholders, equipment vendors and regulatory bodies throughout commissioning.
• Maintain the commissioning register and enforce acceptance requirements; escalate blockers to leadership.
• Document and review commissioning changes and incorporate them into ongoing activities.
• Ensure documentation is complete, traceable and supports qualification, regulatory records and maintenance systems.
• Monitor live-system activities and manage isolation controls where applicable.
• Contribute to preparation and review of factory acceptance testing protocols as required.

As Commissioning Lead, you coordinate commissioning across facility, process and utility systems to achieve safe, timely and compliant handover to operations. You manage commissioning sequencing, integrated testing, readiness gates, documentation and cross functional coordination while ensuring activities meet GMP and applicable regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Commissioning planning: Own the master commissioning sequence, system acceptance order, integrated testing milestones and handover gates.
• Schedule integration: Coordinate with project planning to integrate commissioning activities into the overall project schedule.
• System integration: Manage dependencies across building, utility, process and control systems while identifying integration risks.
• Integrated testing: Lead cross system testing and ensure systems are tested under representative operating conditions before handover.
• Stakeholder coordination: Coordinate project stakeholders, equipment vendors, qualified parties and relevant regulatory bodies throughout commissioning.
• Readiness gates: Maintain the commissioning register, enforce acceptance requirements and elevate unresolved blockers to project leadership.
• Change management: Ensure commissioning changes are documented, reviewed, approved and incorporated into ongoing activities.
• Operational handover: Ensure documentation is complete, traceable and structured to support qualification, regulatory records and maintenance systems.
• Safety management: Monitor activities involving live systems, review safe working methods and manage isolation controls where applicable.
• Documentation support: Contribute to preparation and review of factory acceptance testing protocols where required.

Required competences & skills

• Experience: Ten to fifteen years of industrial project experience with significant commissioning responsibility in regulated industries.
• Commissioning leadership: Proven experience leading or playing a senior role within commissioning for a major facility or process line.
• Qualification expertise: Practical experience with installation, operational and performance qualification workflows is required.
• Testing expertise: Strong practical knowledge of factory and site acceptance testing sequences and commissioning documentation.
• Systems thinking: Strong understanding of interactions between HVAC, electrical, process and control systems.
• Technical credibility: Ability to operate effectively across multiple engineering disciplines and identify cross functional risks.
• GMP experience: Experience within a GMP regulated environment is required.
• Regulatory knowledge: Familiarity with nuclear licensing and radiation protection constraints is a plus.
• Stakeholder management: Comfortable coordinating multiple contractors and stakeholders without formal authority.
• Languages: Fluency in English is required. French or Dutch is a plus.
