g2 Recruitment is seeking an experienced freelance Commissioning Engineer to support ongoing site execution, testing, and energization packages for a major Energy Recovery Power Plant in Willebroek, Belgium.

You will work closely with the site Commissioning Lead to execute cold/hot testing, FAT/SAT, and loop checks across boiler, HRSG, and BOP packages. Fluency in English is required; Dutch or French is a strong advantage.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on commissioning experience in power plants.
• Electrical systems, DCS/PLC interfaces, instrumentation.
• Balance of Plant (BOP) testing must be understood.
• Willebroek, Belgium site mobility is required.
• English fluency required; Dutch or French is an advantage.

Responsabilités

• Execute loop checks, I/O testing, instrument calibration, and functional testing on HRSG, boilers, and steam turbine systems.
• Lead physical FAT/SAT testing on site alongside Tier-1 equipment manufacturers and main contractors.
• Manage electrical and instrumentation cold/hot commissioning through to final energization and load testing.
• Enforce strict site safety procedures, including LOTO, sign-off protocols, and handover documentation.

g2 Recruitment is currently sourcing an experienced freelance Commissioning Engineer to support ongoing site execution, testing, and energization packages for a major Energy Recovery Power Plant in Willebroek, Belgium.

You will work closely with the site Commissioning Lead to execute cold/hot testing, factory/site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT), and loop checks across boiler, steam, and electrical Balance of Plant (BOP) packages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute loop checks, I/O testing, instrument calibration, and functional testing on HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generators), boilers, and steam turbine systems.
• Lead physical FAT/SAT testing on site alongside Tier-1 equipment manufacturers and main contractors.
• Manage electrical and instrumentation cold/hot commissioning through to final energization and load testing.
• Enforce strict site safety procedures, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), sign-off protocols, and handover documentation.

Key Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on commissioning experience within power plants, waste-to-energy, CHP, or biomass facilities.
• Strong background in electrical systems, DCS/PLC interfaces, instrumentation, and Balance of Plant (BOP) testing.
• Full site mobility in Willebroek, Belgium.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Dutch or French is a strong advantage.
