prado is seeking a CNC Operator to establish in-house machining in Veurne. You will set up, program and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision brass components and drive the initial production cell from day one.

You will translate drawings into programs, choose tooling, monitor tolerances and document results. You’ll work with production, planning and quality teams to build our capabilities with autonomy and hands-on leadership.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or equivalent hands-on experience in mechanics.
• Minimum 3 years of practical CNC turning and/or milling experience.
• Experience with brass or non-ferrous metals is a plus.
• Experience programming at machine or CAM software level; knowledge of Fanuc/Siemens/Heidenhain controls.

To support our continued growth, we are looking for a CNC Operator to help establish our in-house machining capability in Veurne. As the first employee within this new production cell, you will be responsible for setting up, programming and operating our CNC machines. You will produce highly precise brass components that form the basis of our products and work full-time from our Veurne site.

What You Will Do

• Set up, program and operate CNC milling machines to produce small and larger series of precision brass components.
• Translate technical drawings into CNC programs, determine the appropriate tooling and machine settings, and manage the process from the first prototype piece through to series production.
• Carry out quality checks throughout the production process using measuring instruments and document the results according to the specified tolerances.
• Contribute to the design of the machine itself by providing input on machine selection, tooling and working methods.
• Ensure the machines continue to operate at their best through autonomous and preventive maintenance, while keeping your workspace clean and organised.
• Continuously work on improving set-up times and cycle times and reducing scrap as production scales up.
• Work closely with production, planning and quality in Veurne and provide feedback to our engineering team on the manufacturability of our products.
• Help shape the quality standards, working methods and technical expertise of a team that will continue to grow in the coming years.

What We Are Looking For

• Technical degree in mechanics or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Minimum 3 years of practical experience in CNC turning and/or CNC milling. Experience with brass or other non-ferrous metals is a strong advantage.
• Hands-on CNC professional with solid experience in setting up, programming and operating CNC machines.
• Experience programming at the machine or using CAM software, with knowledge of common controls such as Fanuc, Siemens or Heidenhain.
• Strong ability to read technical drawings and a good understanding of tolerances and surface finishes.
• Highly precise and quality-minded, with a careful approach to measuring, checking and documenting work.
• Entrepreneurial and hands-on mindset, with the ability to take ownership in a pioneering role and help build a new production cell.
• Knowledge of Lean methodologies such as 5S, SMED and TPM is a plus.
• Fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
