Johnson & Johnson is expanding CAR-T manufacturing capabilities in Ghent and building two centers in the area. The Start-Up Engineer will join Build Operations, collaborating with Operations, Quality and MSAT to implement technology and process improvements for CAR-T manufacturing in EMEA.

You will drive design, ramp-up, cost-driven projects and ensure readiness, with a focus on compliance, risk management, and stakeholder alignment across global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical field (Engineering, Bioscience, Pharmacy, Biochemistry) or equivalent experience is required.
• 4 - 6 years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience in manufacturing, operations, or project management.
• Experience managing projects in regulated, fast-paced environments with scope, schedule, budget, risks and cross-functional alignment.
• Proven ability to manage priorities, communicate clearly, and influence stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to simplify complexity and maintain stakeholder engagement.
• Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required.

Responsabilités

• Act as Project Lead to implement Major Strategic Programs (e.g. New Technologies) and manage project risks.
• Represent Operations in Process Design and align with site strategy for CAR-T Tech Lane, Obelisc & Beerse.
• Develop budget plan and manage budget during project execution.
• Ensure facility and operational readiness in line with implementation plan.
• Ensure quality and compliance, including change controls and audits.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder alignment with QA, QC, MSAT, EHS, IT and external partners.
