You will bridge business and technical stakeholders, translate requirements into data rules, document data flows, and ensure quality through testing and documentation. Collaboration across data and operational systems is key.

Introduction & Summary

As a Business Analyst, you will become an integral part of the B2B team in Belgium, focused on delivering power and gas products and services, including green energy. The primary role involves strengthening the 'Data Team' to oversee Metering Data Platform projects essential for supporting various business use cases such as forecasting, allocation, and reporting.

Main Responsibilities

The Business Analyst / Functional Support specialist facilitates communication between business stakeholders and technical teams to enhance operational effectiveness and data management.

• Gather and clarify requirements from various MDP consumers.


• Translate business needs into functional specifications and data rules.


• Document data flows, interfaces, and dependencies.


• Challenge existing processes for improved efficiency.


• Collaborate on functional implementations within the MDP ecosystem.


• Act as a point of contact for data-related operational queries.


• Investigate production issues and implement corrective measures.


• Validate technical implementations against business needs.


• Define and execute functional test scenarios.


• Maintain high-quality documentation and knowledge transfer to teams.

Key Requirements

• Proven experience in the energy sector; exposure to invoicing is a plus.


• Experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar in a data-intensive environment.


• Strong analytical skills with hands-on SQL proficiency.


• Practical experience in root cause analysis and incident investigation.


• Ability to understand end-to-end data flows and dependencies.


• Experience in Agile delivery environments.


• Fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch or French is required.


• 3+ years of experience in a relevant analytical role.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the energy/utilities sector, particularly in metering and allocation.


• Understanding of the Belgian energy market and key stakeholders.


• Familiarity with AWS data services, Databricks, or Azure DevOps.


• Knowledge of data quality and governance tools.


• Curious about emerging technologies like GenAi.

Other Details

This role does not require structural travel, but occasional travel may be necessary for project-related activities. The environment emphasizes collaboration and direct interaction with data and operational systems.
