Nippon Express Belgium is seeking a Business Development Representative for Contract Logistics to drive new warehousing space opportunities and grow revenue across SME and regional/global accounts. You will engage procurement teams, lead meetings, and coordinate with Operations and Global teams to shape solutions.
The role requires a strong commercial mindset, 3–5 years in logistics, and fluency in Dutch and English. A full-time position with a competitive salary package awaits in Belgium.
As Business Development Representative - Contract Logistics you are part of the sales team of Nippon Express Belgium. You scope is twofold. Finding new customers for our existing footprint of warehousing space.
Nippon Express Belgium has the ambition to grow it logistics revenue in the next year. Therefore we are investing significantly in sales capability, subsequent network & infrastructure development. Our main industry verticals are Electronics, Mobility, Machinery, Spare parts, Semi-conductor & Lifestyle. Opportunities in other verticals are assessed on a pragmatic; case by case basis.
The main purpose of the role is to drive the sales efforts bring Contract Logistics opportunities to the logistics division and lead the effort to convert these opportunities into new business. There are no boundaries in revenue sales; target customers can be SME and Regional/Global Accounts. Global accounts will be developed in cooperation with our Regional/Global Account Team.
Identify and develop new business opportunities in Contract Logistics
Engage with procurement teams to present Nippon Express contract logistics solutions
Represent the Contract Logistics division of Nippon Express Belgium externally
Assess size, scope, and probability of sales opportunities
Lead customer meetings (face-to-face and virtual), potentially together with internal stakeholders
Guide the RFQ process together with solution design managers and logistics engineers
Contribute to solution design to ensure accurate understanding of offerings
Prepare and participate in RFQ presentations and customer discussions
Monitor customer satisfaction and "voice of the customer" during projects
Support account managers in managing and growing existing customer relationships
Collaborate closely with internal departments such as Operations, Sales, and Regional/Global teams
Report on sales pipeline, performance, and results
Conduct market and customer analysis to identify opportunities and trends
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in logistics / supply chain or a similar commercial role
Experience in Contract Logistics or a related logistics environment is required
Experience working with targets and KPIs
Strong knowledge of MS Office (Excel required)
Excellent command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken
