The Belgian Investment Company for Developing Countries (BIO) is a development finance institution governed by the Belgian state with a goal to foster sustainable development through private sector investment in partner countries.

Function

As part of BIO’s digital transformation (Salesforce implementation, Data Warehouse rebuilding, and middleware integration for data flow management), we are strengthening our IT team with a new role: Business Application Owner.

This role is critical to ensure smooth operations, optimal usage, and continuous improvement of all our business-critical applications, including Salesforce, eFront, Adsolut, and others.

The Business Application Owner acts as the internal reference point for all key business applications (CRM, eFront, Adsolut, …), Data and Middleware solutions.

They will ensure that digital tools fit business needs, maintain high functional quality, and evolve effectively over time.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Application Management across the business portfolio:
    • Act as the primary functional owner for Salesforce, eFront, Adsolut, and other core business applications = Business point of contact for application's improvements, development and integration.
    • Gather and prioritize with the business what are the needs, manage backlogs, and validate system evolutions for each application.
    • Coordinate daily with internal IT teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors.
  • Ensure the platform evolves in alignment with business priorities.
  • Provide second-level user support, manage documentation, and conduct user training sessions.
  • Further develop the application in line with the roadmap (what hasn’t been covered in the Phoenix project).
  • Data Flow and Middleware Supervision:
    • Monitor and ensure the smooth integration of data flows between systems via the middleware.
    • Detect, manage, and escalate data flow issues when necessary.
  • Data & Reporting Support:
    • Monitor data quality across Salesforce, the Data Warehouse, and other integrated applications.
    • Support the definition and maintenance of business reports and dashboards.
    • Support the business with improvement of reporting issues.
  • Active Participation in IT & Digital Projects:
    • Lead the functional stream for all projects related to CRM, Business Applications, and Data.
    • Facilitate workshops with business users to gather requirements and design solutions.
    • Ensure end-to-end process consistency across all platforms.
Profile
  • Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years in a similar role (CRM Owner, Business Analyst CRM, Application Manager, …)
    • Experience working in Agile environments (Sprints, Epics, Backlogs).
  • Key Skills:
    • Solid experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce is a strong asset) and business applications (Finance, Investment, HR, etc.).
    • Good understanding of database basics (SQL) and system integrations (JSON, APIs).
    • Ability to interact effectively with both technical and business teams.
    • Strong sense of organization, autonomy, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Languages: Proficiency in French and/or Dutch, professional fluency in English.
