Mega's IT department is seeking a Business Analyst to bridge business needs and development teams, translating stakeholder requirements into clear, actionable specifications. Based in Liège, this full-time role collaborates with UX/UI designers, maintains specs in Jira/Confluence, and participates in agile ceremonies with a cross-functional Product team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's in management, IT, economics or a related field.
• At least 5 years' proven experience as a Business Analyst in an IT/product environment working in agile. Experience in energy/utilities or telecom is a strong plus.
• Agile project-management tools (Jira, Confluence).
• Comfortable using AI assistants (e.g. Claude) day-to-day for analysis, documentation, drafting specifications and speeding up routine tasks.
• Able to read and understand API flows (basic Postman, JSON, REST endpoints) to communicate effectively with developers.
• Basic database / SQL knowledge to check data or understand data flows (e.g. DBeaver);
• Functional understanding of microservices architectures (no development skills required);
• Comfortable reviewing and commenting on UX/UI designs alongside the design team (using the team’s design tool, e.g. Figma);
• English and French required. Trilingual (EN / NL / FR) is a strong plus.

Responsabilités

• Gather, analyse and challenge needs from business stakeholders and translate them into clear user stories and acceptance criteria, with the technical analysts.
• Own and maintain functional specifications in Jira / Confluence, ensuring their quality and completeness.
• Be the direct link between business and developers — clarify requirements, resolve ambiguities and arbitrate priorities.
• Take part in agile ceremonies (refinements, sprint planning, reviews) with a functional perspective.
• Analyse the functional impact of changes on existing business and technical processes;
• Contribute to test scenarios and validate functional deliverables (QA testing & validation);
• Track spec- and test-quality indicators to drive continuous improvement in delivery quality;
• Work with UX/UI designers to ensure functional requirements are reflected in the interface design;
• Track and prioritise the functional backlog together with other Business Analysts in the Product team.

The Job:

The Business Analyst is the primary point of contact between the business and the development team. You translate the needs expressed by business stakeholders into clear, actionable and testable specifications, and you ensure the delivered solutions meet their objectives.

• Gather, analyse and challenge needs from business stakeholders (billing, customer relations, marketing, sales, CX…) and translate them into clear user stories and acceptance criteria, with the technical analysts;
• Own and maintain functional specifications in Jira / Confluence, ensuring their quality and completeness;
• Be the direct link between business and developers — clarify requirements, resolve ambiguities and arbitrate priorities;
• Take part in agile ceremonies (refinements, sprint planning, reviews) with a functional perspective;
• Analyse the functional impact of changes (new features, migrations, regulatory changes) on existing business and technical processes;
• Contribute to test scenarios and validate functional deliverables (QA testing & validation);
• Track spec- and test-quality indicators (spec completeness, test coverage) to drive continuous improvement in delivery quality;
• Work with UX/UI designers to ensure functional requirements are reflected in the interface design;
• Track and prioritise the functional backlog together with the other Business Analysts in the Product team.
