Job summary

Osborne Clarke in Brussels is seeking a student to support the Tax Team on a part-time or full-time basis during the academic year and over the summer. You will assist in advising on Belgian and international tax matters, including corporate tax, VAT, and compensation and benefits, gaining exposure to cross-border transactions.

Ideal candidates are currently studying Belgian law and may hold a specialised master in tax law; native Dutch or French speakers with excellent English; a true team

Qualifications

• Demonstrates a strong and genuine interest in competition and EU law; internship experience at an international law firm is a plus.
• Native Dutch or French speaker with good command of the other national language, and excellent knowledge of English.
• Currently studying for a Belgian law degree with excellent academic results.
• Has completed/is completing a specialised master's degree in tax law.
• True team player with an international mindset.
• Rigorous, precise, pro-active, eager to learn and highly motivated.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the tax team in advising leading Belgian and international clients on corporate tax (M&A), personal income tax, VAT and registration duties, compensation and benefits, stock option plans, tax rulings and litigation.
• Work on a broad range of corporate tax matters and take on real responsibility from the outset.
