Job summary

MSF Belgium is seeking a Field Accounting Controller Assistant to support the reconciliation of intermediate advance balance sheet accounts and act as the HQ focal point for advance accounting queries.

You will work within the Field Accounting Controllers Unit in the Brussels area, collaborating with the Finance Department to monitor financial risk and ensure compliance with MSF policies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Economic Sciences.
• First experience or internship in accounting or controlling is an asset.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills.
• Ability to work in a cross-cultural team environment.

Responsibilities

• Review the monthly accounting entries related to intermediate advance balance sheet accounts and ensure accuracy.
• Reconcile intermediate advance accounts between headquarters and the projects.
• Identify discrepancies and issue corrective actions and recommendations.
• Serve as HQ focal point for projects’ advance accounting-related questions and issues.
• Prepare and issue monthly financial reports related to advances in the projects.
• Evaluate the financial risk related to the management of advances within MSF OCB.
• Enhance end-to-end process of advances in collaboration with the Finance Applications Support Unit.
• Undertake additional ad hoc activities to support the FAC team.
