Organisation: The Canada Excellence Research Chair in Migration and Integration (CERC Migration)

The CERC Migration and Bridging Divides Journalism Fellowship is inviting experienced journalists for a prestigious one-month residency at Toronto Metropolitan University. This unique opportunity offers journalists the chance to engage with cutting-edge research on migration and integration, build connections with leading scholars and policy experts, and bring new depth and authority to their reporting.

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional media experience.
  • Demonstrated track record in covering complex, internationally relevant issues such as migration, politics, social issues, global affairs, or economics.
  • Motivation for applying and how the residency will benefit your journalism.
  • Fit with CERC Migration or Bridging Divides research themes/projects.
  • Proposed activities during the residency (e.g., field research, media training, workshops, engagement with local organizations).
  • Proposed academic host (first and second choice) from the CERC Migration or Bridging Divides research teams at TMU. (Note: academic host cannot
  • be Anna Triandafyllidou. Final assignment is at the discretion of the program.)
  • Proposed dates for the residency (20–35 consecutive days within the eligible period).
  • Optional recommendation letter from a supervisor/editor.
