UCB is seeking a Bio Process Equipment Subject Matter Expert to lead bio-process equipment strategies across R&D, CMC development, and commercial manufacturing at our Braine-l’Alleud campus in Belgium.

You will provide technical leadership across the full product lifecycle, influence CAPEX programs, ensure scalable, compliant equipment solutions, and drive quality-by-design through qualification and validation efforts. This role partners with global teams in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Extensive experience with biopharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Proven track record delivering engineering and CAPEX projects in regulated environments.
• Strong GMP, FDA, EMA knowledge and risk-based validation approaches.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and translate complex challenges.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership.

Responsabilités

• Provide technical leadership for bio-process equipment across development and manufacturing.
• Support global CAPEX projects from feasibility through commissioning and startup.
• Define equipment requirements and ensure scalable, compliant solutions.
• Drive qualification, validation, and risk assessment activities using quality-by-design principles.
• Manage supplier relationships and support equipment selection decisions.
• Promote innovation and continuous improvement across sites.
