In4Matic in Brussels seeks a Senior Back-end Developer to design, implement, and continuously improve scalable software using .NET and REST APIs. You’ll work with modern cloud technologies and contribute to DevOps practices in a hands-on role.

You’ll drive architectural decisions around microservices and clean architecture, develop on Azure services, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment. Brussels onsite 2 days per week is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in .NET development and REST APIs.
• 5+ years of Azure cloud experience (Functions, Cosmos DB or equivalent).
• DevOps experience including CI/CD pipelines and YAML-based configurations.
• Strong understanding of microservices, clean architecture and design patterns.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and automated testing.

We’re looking for a Senior Back-end Developer to join our client’s development team and contribute to the design, development, and continuous improvement of modern software applications. You’ll work on complex technical challenges, translating functional requirements into scalable solutions while contributing to strong engineering and DevOps practices. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, and working with modern cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

• Translate application storyboards, use cases, and requirements into functional and reliable applications.
• Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and maintainable .NET code.
• Build and integrate data storage solutions using both SQL and NoSQL technologies.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and modern .NET applications.
• Design and implement cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure services.
• Apply modern software architecture principles, including microservices, clean architecture, and established design patterns.
• Ensure optimal application performance, quality, scalability, and responsiveness.
• Identify bottlenecks, bugs, and technical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Implement automated testing and maintain high standards of code quality.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and broader DevOps practices.
• Work closely with central technical teams to strengthen DevOps capabilities across development teams.
• Collaborate with other developers and stakeholders using modern Agile delivery practices.

Technical Profile

• 10+ years of professional experience in .NET development, including recent experience with .NET Core and modern .NET versions.
• Strong experience with REST API development.
• 5+ years of professional experience with Microsoft Azure, including services such as Azure Functions, Event Hub, Cosmos DB, or comparable technologies.
• 5+ years of experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, YAML-based configuration, and deployment strategies such as blue/green deployments.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, microservices, design patterns, and clean architecture.
• Practical experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with unit testing and automated testing practices.
• Strong Git experience in collaborative development environments.
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence and their use within Agile and DevOps processes.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or SAFe.
• Professional experience with React.js is an advantage.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools or AI-enabled IDEs is a plus.

The Ideal Candidate

You are an experienced back-end developer with a strong engineering mindset and a genuine interest in modern technology. You combine deep .NET expertise with solid cloud, architecture, and DevOps knowledge and are comfortable working on complex, distributed systems. You continuously look for ways to improve your technical approach and are open to adopting new technologies and development practices. You communicate fluently in English at B2 level or above and are willing to work onsite in Brussels at least 2 days per week.
