Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Belgium is hiring for a senior backend developer to build robust server-side applications and APIs. You will design and implement core business logic, integrate with frontend components, and ensure secure, scalable data storage and services.

Nature of the Tasks

• Development of back-end website applications.
• Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic.
• Implement core business logic.
• Design and implementation of data storage solutions.
• Apply data and security best practices, including input validation, authentication/authorization, secure storage, compliant logging, and monitoring.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Design and develop APIs.
• Participate in the design and creation of scalable software solutions.
• Maintain code integrity and organization.
• Write clean, functional back-end code.
• Compile and analyze data, processes, and code to troubleshoot issues and identify areas for improvement, including setting up and querying monitoring tools.
• Perform unit and integration testing, debug, fix, and validate code changes.
• Deliver solutions that fulfill functional and non-functional requirements while aligning with user expectations.
• Write and maintain technical documentation.
• Configure cloud services for back-end functionality (e.g., serverless functions, storage accounts, managed Kubernetes).
• Develop and maintain services and business logic using one or more back-end programming languages.
• Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms to secure APIs and services.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests, ensuring code quality and reliability, and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.

Specific Expertise and Technologies

• Proficiency in back-end development languages such as Java and PHP, with experience in frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Node.js.
• Strong understanding of the web development lifecycle, programming techniques, and development tools.
• Experience with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and Elastic APM.
• Knowledge of OpenTelemetry for metrics, logs, and traces.
• Proficiency in relational databases including PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MySQL, with the ability to write complex SQL queries and understand database design principles.
• Knowledge of NoSQL document stores such as MongoDB, CouchDB, and CosmosDB, including consistency and performance trade-offs.
• Experience with Git workflows (GitFlow, trunk-based development) and understanding of legacy systems using SVN.
• Experience designing, building, and securing RESTful APIs and web services, including OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of authentication and authorization standards and protocols, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and JWT.
