Orbis Group, in partnership with a Brussels-based startup, seeks a Senior Backend Developer to join a high-priority fleet management project. You will work on production-grade APIs and services, own feature delivery, and contribute across both new development and bug fixes.

The role is Brussels/Hybrid with an initial 3-month contract at circa €500/day, with potential to extend; you will integrate into an existing codebase and collaborate with an agile team in a fast-paced environment.

Competenze

• Strong commercial experience with Node.js in production systems.
• Experience with Fastify is highly desirable.
• Experience building and maintaining production APIs/backend services.
• Comfortable joining an existing codebase and becoming productive quickly.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools is beneficial.

Orbis have partnered with a Brussels-based startup that builds a software platform helping companies manage employee mobility, commuting benefits and fleet-related services.

They are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join a high-priority project focused on their fleet management product. The platform manages leasing contracts, vehicle changes, mileage allowances and other fleet-related workflows, with a significant customer rollout planned over the coming months.

You would be joining an existing production environment, taking ownership quickly and working across both new feature development and ongoing bug fixing/support.

Technical requirements:

• Strong commercial experience with Node.js
• Experience with Fastify is highly desirable
• Strong experience building and maintaining production APIs/backend services
• Comfortable joining an existing codebase and becoming productive quickly
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools is beneficial

Details:

• Rate: circa €500/day - flex for the right candidate
• Location: Brussels/Hybrid - ideally onsite around 1 day/week
