Job summary

Visser & Van Baars is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build and optimise data pipelines for client projects across Belgium. You’ll work with Snowflake, dbt and modern platforms like Microsoft Fabric and Databricks, contributing to scalable data solutions.

With 2–3+ years in data engineering, you’ll translate business needs into robust data workflows, collaborate across teams, and continuously grow your technical expertise in a hybrid setting.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a similar role.
• Strong SQL skills and solid data modelling and engineering principles.
• Hands-on with Snowflake and dbt, or strong background in data platforms and transformation tools.
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.

What we’re looking for

• 2-3+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a similar role.

• Strong SQL skills and a solid understanding of data modelling and data engineering principles.

• Hands-on experience with Snowflake and dbt, or a strong background in modern data platforms and data transformation tools.

• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.

• Familiarity with cloud data platforms, preferably within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and/or Databricks is a strong plus.

• Experience with Python is an advantage.

• A curious mindset, strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

• The ability to work independently while enjoying collaboration and knowledge sharing.

• Fluent in Dutch is a MUST. English and / or French are a plus.

• Willingness to work in a hybrid setup, depending on the project, in the Antwerp, Brussels, East Flanders or West Flanders region.
