Exail in Ostend, Belgium, seeks a Field Service Engineer – Technical Trainer to develop and deliver training for autonomous maritime systems and to support customers with maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of our solutions. You will combine engineering expertise with hands-on education, traveling to customer sites and collaborating with global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field.
• At least three years of experience maintaining complex maritime systems.
• Experience with autonomous or embedded systems is an asset; training experience is a strong advantage.
• Solid background in mechanics, electronics, and electrical engineering.
• Familiar with preventive and corrective maintenance, fault diagnosis, and interpreting technical documentation.
• Comfortable using testing, measurement, and diagnostic equipment.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch is a strong asset and French is a plus.
• Valid Category B driving licence; willingness to travel internationally ~50–70 days per year, including France.

Responsabilités

• Develop and deliver technical training on operation, maintenance, and diagnostics of autonomous maritime systems (AUVs, ROVs, USVs).
• Prepare and maintain training materials, manuals, procedures, and e-learning modules.
• Deliver classroom and hands-on training to technicians, operators, customer engineers, and staff.
• Provide training on preventive and corrective maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair procedures, and system architectures.
