Burdock Consultants Belgium N.V. is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to support the commissioning and start-up phases of a major industrial project.

You will work with Honeywell Experion PKS, Honeywell Safety Manager, ALMS and PHD Historian to ensure robust system integration and functional testing. Responsibilities include loop checks, functional testing, SIS validation, and troubleshooting DCS/SIS issues.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Honeywell Experion PKS and Honeywell Safety Manager.
• Good knowledge of ALMS and PHD Historian.
• Experience in commissioning and start-up of petrochemical or large industrial facilities.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilités

• Support ICSS commissioning, pre-commissioning and start-up activities.
• Execute and support loop checks, functional testing, and system integration testing.
• Perform Functional Safety Proof Tests and SIS validation activities.
• Troubleshoot DCS, SIS and automation-related issues.
• Support operations during plant start-up and initial operation.
• Assist with alarm management, historian validation and operational readiness.

• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Vendors and EPCM teams to ensure safe commissioning.

Introduction

• We are assisting our client in their search for an experienced Automation Engineer with strong knowledge of Honeywell Experion PKS, Honeywell Safety Manager, ALMS, and PHD to support the commissioning and start-up phases of the project.

Function

• Support ICSS commissioning, pre-commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Execute and support loop checks, functional testing, cause & effect validation, and system integration testing.
• Perform and support Functional Safety Proof Tests and SIS validation activities.
• Troubleshoot DCS, SIS, communication, and automation-related issues.
• Support operations during plant start-up and initial operation.
• Assist with alarm management, historian validation, and operational readiness activities.
• Support punch list close‑out and resolution of commissioning issues.
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Vendors, and EPCM teams to ensure safe

Requirements

• Proven experience with Honeywell Experion PKS and Honeywell Safety Manager.
• Good knowledge of Honeywell ALMS and PHD Historian.
• Experience in commissioning and start-up of petrochemical, refining, or large industrial facilities.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of ethylene crackers is a strong advantage.
• Fluent in English.
• Flexible regarding working hours and shift support during critical commissioning and start-up periods.
