Overview

The OPRL is holding an audition for one Principal Trombone, playing Alto Trombone and Bass Trumpet.

Practical information

• When: Monday, October 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM (attendance required from 9:15 AM for the draw).

For candidates who reach the third round of the audition, the OPRL will cover travel and accommodation expenses up to €400 per candidate (upon presentation of receipts).

Remuneration

• Monthly salary: starting from €4,565.70 gross.
• Additional allowances: clothing allowance, audiovisual fee, double holiday pay.
• Benefits: supplementary pension plan (80% covered by the employer), guaranteed income insurance, 24/7 instrument insurance, reimbursement for instrument maintenance.

Auditions will consist of three rounds.

First round

• 1st movement:
  • David, Concertino Op. 4, with cadenza (Edition Zimmermann)
• Orchestral excerpts:
  • Rossini, La Gazza Ladra, Overture
  • Ravel, L’Enfant et les Sortilèges

Second round

• Boutry, Capriccio for Trombone and Piano (Edition Leduc)
• Orchestral excerpts:
  • Saint-Saëns, Symphony No. 3
  • R. Strauss, Till Eulenspiegel

Third round

Excerpts from the first and second rounds may be requested again in the third round.

• Schumann, Symphony No. 3 (Alto Trombone)
