The Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège invites applications for an Associate Principal Cello. Auditions are conducted in three rounds to assess solo, orchestral, and ensemble skill. The monthly gross salary starts at €4,227.27, plus clothing, audiovisual and double holiday allowances, and a supplementary pension plan.

The OPRL is organizing a recruitment audition for one Associate Principal Cello.

Created in 1960, the Liège Royal Philharmonic Orchestra enjoys undisputed national and international renown and occupies a prime position among European orchestras.

• When: Friday, November 6, 2026 at 10:00 a.m (attendance required from 9:15 for the draw)

Remuneration

Monthly salary: from €4,227.27 gross.

Additional allowances: clothing allowance, audiovisual allowance, double holiday bonus.

Auditions

Auditions will consist of three rounds:

• HAYDN, Concerto in D Major, 1st movement (without cadenza)
• One or more orchestral excerpts or solo (chosen by the jury, taken from the list shown in round 3)

Second round :

1 st movement (without cadenza) from one of the following concertos:

SCHUMANN, Concerto for Cello

One or more orchestral excerpts or solo (chosen by the jury, taken from the list shown in round 3)

Third round :

Orchestral excerpts*

• DEBUSSY, The Sea
