CMS Belgium in Brussels seeks an associate to strengthen its EU, competition and regulatory law team. You are bilingual in Dutch and French and fluent in English, and you hold a Belgian law degree with a Master or LLM in European law, with 4–5 years of relevant experience.

You will advise and represent undertakings in antitrust, merger control and regulated sectors, collaborating across CMS networks. Homeworking is possible regularly after gaining autonomy; CMS offers an entrepreneurial

Responsabilités

• Advise and represent undertakings, national and international groups in EU, competition and regulatory law, including antitrust, merger control and regulated sectors.
• Cooperate with CMS law firms and departments for multi-jurisdictional cases.
• Manage files end-to-end with growing independence under partner supervision.
• Advise and represent clients in litigation and negotiations before EC, Belgian authorities and courts.
• Interact with clients to support litigation and negotiations.

CMS is looking for an associate to strengthen its EU, competition and regulatory law team in Brussels.

Profile:

• You are bilingual in Dutch and in French and fluent in English
• At least four to five years of experience in the competition and EU law department of a reputed business law firm
• You hold a Belgian law degree with enviable academic results with a Master or LLM in European law
• Strong analytical skills and a creative mind, taking initiatives and having a real interest in business life
• Accuracy and rigor are two of your qualities
• You are a team-player

Main responsibilities:

• Advise and represent undertakings, national and international groups in several areas of EU, competition and regulatory law, such as antitrust, merger control and regulated sectors, including private and public litigation
• Cooperate with the various foreign CMS law firms and the different CMS Belgium departments, to experience the multi-jurisdictional and multidisciplinary approach of cases
• Manage files from start to finish, act with a satisfying degree of independence, under the supervision of a partner
• Work in close cooperation with clients in advising and representing them in litigation and negotiations
• Intervene in procedures before the European Commission, the Belgian Competition Authority, the Court of Justice of the EU and national jurisdictions
