Ghent University recruits for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Industrial Systems Engineering and Product Design, starting 1 February 2027. The role focuses on Product-System Design for Industry 5.0, combining teaching in Dutch with research leadership and societal engagement.

You will lecture across bachelor and master programs, supervise doctoral work, and engage with industry through courses and projects, contributing to innovation and sustainability

Qualifications

• Strong academic CV with international visibility in the requested field
• Ability to initiate and supervise educational and research projects and to acquire funding
• Didactic skills to teach university students to develop academic competences
• International mobility is recommended

Responsabilités

• Lecturing course units in Product-System Design for Industry 5.0 in Dutch within bachelor and master programs
• Conducting innovative and internationally recognized research in Product-System Design for Industry 5.0
• Supervising and mentoring doctoral dissertations and master’s theses
• Contributing to institutional and societal engagement and departmental activities
