Artemys, on behalf of HybriX Energy, seeks an Asset and Control Room Engineer to monitor and optimize large-scale battery storage assets from the control room. You will coordinate maintenance with LTSA partners and ensure safe, reliable operation through lifecycle stages.

Qualifications

• A relevant technical degree in Industrial Engineering.
• Experience in operation, monitoring, maintenance, or performance optimization of industrial, electrical, or renewable energy assets is a plus.
• Experience in control room engineering is considered an asset.
• Fluency in Dutch or French, as well as English.
• Strong communication with internal/external stakeholders and problem-solving abilities.

Responsabilités

• Participate in first-line diagnosis of technical incidents and escalate as needed.
• Monitor LTSA-driven maintenance activities with partners (Alfen, SPIE, etc.).
• Oversee SCADA and EMS systems with partners; follow updates and cybersecurity actions.
• Analyse performance data: asset availability, efficiency, health, and degradation.
• Ensure compliance with grid codes, Elia regulations, and grid connection terms.
• Assist in on-site interventions: planning, access control, permits-to-work, and supervision.

On behalf of our client HybriX Energy - a local and independent developer of grid-scale and industrial battery energy storage projects, fully committed to the energy transition - we are looking for an Asset and Control Room Engineer who will be responsible for the technical follow-up, monitoring, and optimization of the operational battery storage projects in the portfolio.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client HybriX Energy is a local and independent developer of grid-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) projects, actively engaged in the development, construction, and operation of large-scale BESS installations, and strongly committed to supporting the transition to a sustainable energy future.

To continue its ambitious expansion, HybriX Energy is looking for a highly motivated Asset and Control Room Engineer to join its enthusiastic and dynamic team, passionate about energy storage and dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment.

As an Asset and Control Room Engineer, you will focus on monitoring the performance and availability of the assets from the control room, coordinating maintenance and interventions with LTSA partners, and ensuring the safe, reliable, and profitable operation of the installations throughout their entire lifecycle.

Your main responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

• Participating in first-line diagnosis of technical incidents and escalating issues to the appropriate internal or external parties (LTSA partners, OEMs, grid operators, etc.)
• Monitoring corrective and preventive maintenance activities performed under the Long Term Service Agreements (LTSA) with Alfen, SPIE, and other partners
• Monitoring of SCADA and EMS systems, in close cooperation with Yuso, e-Bo, and SPIE, including follow-up of updates, patches, and cybersecurity-related actions
• Analysing performance data and reporting on asset availability, round-trip efficiency, state-of-health, and degradation of the battery systems
• Monitoring compliance with applicable grid codes, Elia technical regulations, and the conditions of grid connection agreements
• Taking part in on-site interventions, including planning, access control (Onyx One), Permits-to-Work, LOTO procedures, and supervision of work by third parties
• Following up on the HSE aspects during the operational phase: risk assessments, incident reporting, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Managing and monitoring spare parts inventories and consumables in collaboration with LTSA partners
• Following up on insurance claims and related files in collaboration with management and external insurers
• Preparing periodic reports on operational performance of the assets and presenting them to the management team and the Lenders Technical Advisor (LTA)
• Preparing and following up on the annual OPEX budgets for each asset, including tracking actual costs against budget
• Contributing actively to the handover of projects, from the construction phase to the operational phase, in close collaboration with the technical Project Manager
• Identifying opportunities for optimizations and upgrades of existing assets to maximise their performance and lifespan
• Continuously developing technical expertise and staying up to date with industry developments, technologies, and best practices
• Working back-to-back with the Project Engineer to ensure technical continuity between project execution and operational phases
• Participating in the continuous real-time monitoring and follow-up on operational battery assets from the control room, including the follow-up of alarms, key performance indicators (KPIs), and asset availability

YOUR PROFILE

The successful candidate will be required to have:

• A relevant technical degree in Industrial Engineering
• A strong technical affinity and the ability to confidently communicate and discuss technical matters with internal and external stakeholders
• Experience in the operation, monitoring, maintenance, or performance optimization of industrial, electrical, or renewable energy assets will be an asset
• Experience in control room engineering is considered an asset
• An analytical mindset with an eye for detail
• A proactive, solution-oriented approach and strong problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong collaborative communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills allowing you to engage effectively with suppliers, team members, and stakeholders
• Knowledge of battery energy storage systems and related technologies is a plus but not a must; eagerness and the ability to learn quickly are even more important
• A scale-up mindset, with eagerness to dive into both new and familiar challenges
• Fluency in Dutch or French, as well as English
• A genuine willingness to continuously learn and grow professionally
