Job summary

Imec.IC-link, part of imec, is a premier ASIC solutions provider based in Leuven, Belgium. We seek an experienced ASIC Solutions Architect to shape end-to-end ASIC proposals, translating customer requirements into feasible technical paths across design, technology, packaging, test and manufacturing.

You will lead technical definitions, challenge requirements, and bring together experts to deliver executable solutions while working with Business Development to craft competitive proposals.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience in ASIC development.
• Strong technical foundation in pre-silicon and ASIC design.
• Ability to think end-to-end, connecting design with technology, manufacturing, packaging and test.
• Ability to step back from hands-on engineering to assess requirements and define the right path.
• Experience communicating with customers and technical experts to align solutions.

• Shape end-to-end ASIC solutions translating customer requirements into technical approaches across design, technology, packaging, test and manufacturing.
• Lead the technical definition of customer proposals considering performance, feasibility, timeline, cost and manufacturability.
• Engage directly with customers, challenge requirements and ask the right technical questions.
• Coordinate across imec.IC-link to define executable solutions and address questions within your area.
• Collaborate with Business Development to provide technical and commercial input for proposals.
• Evaluate trade-offs and their impact on NRE, volume cost and project feasibility.
• Stay connected to semiconductor ecosystem developments and improve solutions and processes.

ASIC Technical Solutions Lead

What you will do

Are you an experienced ASIC professional ready to move beyond the hands-on engineering work and take a broader view?

As an ASIC Solution Architect at imec.IC-link, you will help customers turn their requirements into complete, feasible ASIC solutions. Rather than designing or coding yourself, you will use your technical background to ask the right questions, identify the right technical path and bring together the expertise needed to build the solution.

You will look beyond the chip design itself and consider the complete picture, from ASIC architecture and technology choices to packaging, test and manufacturing.

• Shape end-to-end ASIC solutions, translating customer requirements into the right technical approach across design, technology, packaging, test and manufacturing.
• Lead the technical definition of customer proposals, considering performance, feasibility, timeline, cost and manufacturability.
• Engage directly with customers, challenging requirements and asking the right technical questions to understand what they really need.
• Bring together experts across imec.IC-link to define an executable solution, while independently addressing customer questions within your area of expertise.
• Work closely with Business Development, providing the technical and commercial input they need to build competitive customer proposals.
• Evaluate technical trade-offs and their impact on NRE, volume cost and overall project feasibility.
• Stay connected to developments across the semiconductor ecosystem and contribute to improving our solutions and ways of working.

Who you are

• You have around 8–10 years of experience in ASIC development, with a strong technical foundation in pre-silicon and ASIC design.
• You combine this technical depth with end-to- end thinking and understand how design decisions connect with technology, manufacturing, packaging and test.
• You can step back from hands‑on engineering to assess requirements, challenge assumptions and define the right technical path for a customer.
• You understand how technical decisions influence cost, feasibility and commercial outcomes.
• You communicate confidently with both customers and technical experts and can bring different disciplines together around a solution.
• You are fluent in English and are based in Belgium or willing to relocate.
