Job summary

Equal Plus Consulting is seeking an experienced AS/400 Developer to work hybrid in Boom, Belgium, contributing to a global ERP rollout. The role focuses on backend services, ERP integration, and change management.

You will design and implement business logic on IBM i, ensure smooth deployments, and support international rollout activities across multiple countries. Fluency in English is required, with a ICT/Economics degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in RPG/ILE and CL on IBM i (AS/400).
• Experience with RPG embedded SQL, SQL/400, DB2/400, and Printer Files is required.
• Experience interfacing ERP systems with third-party apps via Web Services, XML, and MQ Series.
• Knowledge of Aldon or similar change/deployment tooling is essential.
• Fluent in English (written & spoken); Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in ICT, Economics, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize backend logic using RPG/ILE, CL, and DB2/400.

About the Project

To support the international growth and ambitious global ERP rollout within the company, they are scaling our engineering capacity. They are actively expanding and tailoring their core ERP platform, Wynne RentalMan, across multiple international markets.

They are currently working toward an important milestone with go-lives in the United Arab Emirates, Norway, Italy, and Germany, followed by several additional country onboardings throughout 2027. We are looking for an experienced IBM i / RPG Developer to hit the ground running, help meet these deadlines, and deliver robust ERP solutions.

Your Role

In this role, you will be a key contributor to our ERP engineering and integration efforts:

• Design, build, and optimize backend business logic using RPG/ILE, CL, and DB2/400.


• Develop and maintain integrations between RentalMan and external systems via Web Services, XML, and messaging middleware (MQ Series-like tech).


• Support international country rollouts, including specific local compliance and financial flows such as E-invoicing.


• Ensure smooth version control and deployments using Aldon (Change Management).


• Oversee end-to-end application lifecycle management, from technical design to testing and deployment.

Who We Are Looking For

Requirements/Must-Haves:

• Technical Core: Proven expertise in RPG/ILE and CL programming on IBM i (AS/400).


• Database & Querying: Hands-on experience with (RPG embedded) SQL, SQL/400, DB2/400, and Printer Files.


• Integrations: Solid track record in interfacing ERP systems with third-party applications (Web Services, XML, MQ Series / messaging tech).


• Change Management: Working knowledge of Aldon (or similar change management / deployment tooling).


• Language & Education: Fluent in English (written & spoken). You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in ICT, Economics, or equivalent through practical experience.

Valuable Assets:

• Hands-on experience with Wynne Systems RentalMan ERP (or comparable equipment rental / asset management ERP).


• Direct experience with E-invoicing implementations across European and international tax frameworks.


• Broad understanding of diverse business processes (rental logistics, supply chain, finance, asset tracking).
