CONTEXT
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) provides medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare. Our teams are made up of tens of thousands of health professionals, logistics and administrative staff. Our actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of impartiality, independence, and neutrality. We are a non-profit, self-governed, member-based organization.
The MSF Academy for Healthcare helps frontline healthcare workers strengthen their skills and competencies, aiming to reinforce MSF’s capacity to deliver safe and effective people-centered care. It develops and delivers tailored work-based learning programs for medical and paramedical staff in the health facilities MSF supports.
We are looking for a motivated student to join MSF Academy for Healthcare in Brussels and support the Outpatient Care (OPD) Initiative. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in knowledge management, monitoring, evaluation, data analysis, and program support within an international humanitarian organization. The OPD team leads an initiative aimed at strengthening the competencies and skills of consultation providers in patient assessment, clinical reasoning, and clinical decision-making through a person-centered model of care. In collaboration with the MEAL team, the student will contribute to the organization and maintenance of program resources and teaching tools, the adaptation of patient feedback instruments, and the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data to support program learning and the continuous improvement of the activities.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the responsibility of the OPD Project Coordinator, you will be in charge of:
Rename files stored on SharePoint OPD Programme folders in accordance with requests from the administrative team. Apply DR Watson’s file-naming recommendations to ensure consistency, clarity, and accessibility of documents.
Review, organize, and maintain OPD clinical mentoring tools to ensure accuracy, completeness, and accessibility. Ensure that all tools:
Develop a treatment-understanding questionnaire to be integrated into the OPD MEAL framework. Conduct a mapping of existing MSF tools developed by the Pharmacy and Health Promotion (HP) teams. Liaise with relevant technical referents, as needed, to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with existing standards.
Organize, clean, and systematize data collected from focus group discussions conducted across different health centres. Ensure data quality by confirming the availability, anonymization, and completeness of transcriptions. Collaborate with the MEAL team and the OPD Referent on thematic qualitative analysis and the preparation of summary findings and reports.
Review and appraise available data from CGA self-assessments conducted at various health centres. Support the MEAL team and OPD Referent in analysing findings and contributing to reporting outputs.
