We are looking for an AML & AI Specialist to support an operational financial crime team in identifying and implementing practical AI solutions that improve day-to-day AML activities.

The role combines hands-on AML expertise with practical GenAI experience. The objective is to reduce manual effort, improve consistency and support analysts while maintaining quality, traceability and human oversight.

Work closely with AML analysts and team leads to identify repetitive or time-consuming tasks and develop practical AI-assisted solutions.

The focus is on delivering tangible operational improvements rather than launching a large transformation programme.

Identify opportunities

• Work with AML analysts to understand their daily activities and challenges.
• Identify repetitive tasks suitable for AI assistance.
• Prioritise use cases according to business impact and implementation effort.
• Maintain a practical backlog of improvement opportunities.

Build and test AI solutions

• Configure and develop AI assistants, agents, copilots and prompt-based tools.
• Create prototypes and pilot solutions.
• Test solutions directly with business users.
• Improve solutions based on user feedback.
• Ensure alignment with existing AML controls and processes.

Support AML operations

Apply operational knowledge of:

• KYC and KYT
• Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)
• PEP and sanctions screening
• Source of Funds (SoF) and Source of Wealth (SoW) investigations

Measure results

• Track time savings and operational benefits.
• Assess the practical impact of implemented solutions.
• Document lessons learned and recommendations for future opportunities.
• Case summarisation
• KYC file reviews
• Document analysis and information extraction
• Quality and completeness checks
• Retrieval of information from procedures and guidelines
• Proven experience in AML operations, compliance or financial crime.
• Strong understanding of KYC, CDD/EDD, PEP and sanctions screening, SoF/SoW and transaction monitoring.
• Ability to understand AML analysts’ daily activities and operational challenges.

AI / GenAI

• Practical experience using or building AI assistants, agents, GenAI solutions, copilots or prompt-based tools.
• Ability to independently develop prototypes and working solutions.
• Experience testing and iterating solutions with business users.

Personal Skills
