Abakus IT-Solutions is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join an innovative Digital & Data environment in Brussels, contributing to projects supporting the energy transition and data-driven decision making. You will design data pipelines and enrichments, work with SQL Server, Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Functions and DevOps, and develop in Python.

You will collaborate with Analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions, with a strong emphasis on data

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience.
• Experience with two or more of the listed areas: SQL Server, Azure Data Engineering, Python/Databricks, modern data technologies.
• Fluent English; German, French or Dutch is a plus.

Your mission

You will join an Agile Product Team and be responsible for:

• Designing and developing data pipelines and data solutions.
• Working with SQL Server, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions and Azure DevOps.
• Developing data pipelines and enrichments using Python and Databricks.
• Contributing to data quality, governance, lineage and documentation.
• Working closely with Business Analysts and stakeholders to transform requirements into effective solutions.
• Contributing to testing, DevOps practices and continuous improvement.
• Exploring new technologies such as Redis, RabbitMQ, Neo4j or Apache Arrow.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with:

• 3–5+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in at least 2 of the following areas: SQL Server, Azure Data Engineering, Python/Databricks, modern data technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A product-oriented and customer-focused mindset.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Fluent English; German, French or Dutch is a plus.
• An Agile mindset and a willingness to continuously learn and improve.
