Degroof Petercam Asset Management SA Belgium is building an AI cell to drive innovation across value chains. As AI Strategy Lead, you will shape the AI strategy for the investment management pillar and align with group priorities and regulatory standards.

You will identify high-impact opportunities, build and execute a roadmap, coach AI engineers, and translate needs from data teams to scalable AI solutions. You report directly to the Chief Technology and Operations Officer in a permanent role.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in AI strategy or implementation.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and business value.
• Experience contributing to transformation projects or process improvements.
• Working knowledge of Python, SQL, and ML tools (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
• Structured, analytical, curious and creative mindset.
• Proactive, collaborative, and team-spirited with clear communication.
• Strong sense of responsibility around ethical AI and data privacy.
• Fluent English; Dutch or French a plus.

Degroof Petercam Asset Management distributes its managed funds internationally. We are establishing a dedicated AI cell within the company to drive innovation and efficiency across our value chains. This cell will be supported by a Senior AI Transformation Officer and operate under the lead of the Chief Technology and Operations Officer, in close collaboration with the Group CDO cell.

Your position

As AI Strategy Lead, you will play a key role in shaping how AI creates impact across our investment management activities:

• You define and drive the AI strategy for the investment management pillar, ensuring alignment with group priorities and regulatory standards.
• You identify high-impact opportunities to improve processes and decision-making, based on your experience with AI strategy and implementation.
• You build and execute a roadmap that helps the organization grow into a learning, adaptable, and innovation-driven environment.
• You coach and support AI engineers and colleagues, helping ideas turn into real, impactful solutions.
• You work closely with a diverse set of stakeholders—data teams, quant experts, business teams to translate needs into scalable AI solutions.
• You contribute to shaping the company’s data strategy, including data quality, accessibility, and governance.
• You ensure AI is developed and used responsibly, with a strong focus on ethics, transparency, and data integrity.
• You actively improve processes and support teams across IT, Operations, and Transformation.

You will report directly to the Chief Technology and Operations Officer.

This position is open to candidates seeking permanent eployment. we are not considering consultants, contractors or consulting firms.

Your profile

• Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related field, with an interest in financial services.
• 3–5 years of experience in AI strategy or implementation (experience can come from different environments).
• A good understanding of AI/ML concepts and how they can create value in business contexts.
• Experience contributing to transformation projects or process improvements.
• Working knowledge of Python, SQL, and ML tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn); openness to learning is equally valued.
• A structured and analytical mindset, combined with curiosity and creativity.
• A proactive and collaborative approach, with a strong team spirit.
• The ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• A strong sense of responsibility around ethical AI and data privacy.
• Professional working proficiency in English, with knowledge of Dutch or French as a plus.
• Motivation to learn, grow, and make a tangible impact.
