We are looking for a bright AI Engineer to join our Life Science Engineering team based in Louvain-la-Neuve.

In Life Sciences, we use innovative technologies to streamline the supply chain of hundreds of clinical trials around the world, reducing waste, accelerating commercialization of new treatments such as Covid‑19 or cancer drugs, and reducing patient risks.

As a AI Engineer, you will join our Engineering department to build and scale the AI capabilities that are integrated directly into our customer‑facing platforms and services.

What You’ll Do

• Designing, constructing, and implementing generative AI features, including agentic workflows and RAG pipelines, for N‑SIDE’s digital platforms and tools
• Managing the integration and orchestration of foundation models, ranging from proprietary solutions to self‑hosted open‑source alternatives like Llama or Qwen
• Developing secure retrieval systems and vector databases that link our internal clinical data to Large Language Model capabilities
• Setting up automated evaluation frameworks to ensure high output quality, factual accuracy, and reliable instruction adherence for all AI features
• Architecting robust prompt systems and safety guardrails to maintain reliability and consistency within our production environments
• Taking responsibility for the economic efficiency and scalability of GenAI services by monitoring latency, token usage, and overall throughput
• Partnering with product managers and domain specialists to convert complex business needs into effective, production‑ready AI solutions
• Educating engineering teams on generative AI standards and methods for developing applications using non‑deterministic models

About You

• You bring over three years of professional engineering background, including at least one to two years dedicated to shipping Generative AI and LLM solutions into production environments
• You hold a master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field
• Advanced programming skills in Python (or TypeScript/Java), with the ability to maintain rigorous codebases
• Practical expertise with current GenAI orchestration frameworks and vector database technologies
• A deep grasp of core software engineering principles, encompassing testing, version control, and CI/CD workflows
• Excellent communication skills with the capacity to clarify technical model behaviors and trade‑offs for various stakeholders
• You have a great team spirit, sense of initiative and responsibility over the products you deliver
• You are fluent in English, other languages are a plus
• Experience in SaaS products or enterprise software is a plus
