Job summary

Verity Care Services Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified Youth Worker to join our team on a full-time basis in Australia. The role provides practical, emotional and social support to young people and collaborates with families, professionals and community services to promote positive outcomes.

Responsibilities include assessing needs, developing individualized support plans, documenting progress and coordinating referrals.

Qualifications

• Applicants must have a relevant youth work or community services qualification.
• Demonstrated understanding of youth development, person-centred support and wellbeing.
• Knowledge of health, welfare, housing, education, employment and community services for young people.
• Ability to assess circumstances and identify appropriate support and referral pathways.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate case notes and confidential documentation.
• Ability to work independently and with families, carers and service providers.
• WWCC and National Police Check current or willingness to obtain.
• Current Australian driver's licence and ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Assess individual needs, circumstances, strengths and support requirements of young people.
• Provide practical, emotional and social support to youths facing difficulties.
• Assist youths to identify challenges and develop practical strategies.
• Develop, implement and review individualised support programs with professionals.
• Provide information, guidance and referrals to health, welfare, housing, education, employment and services.
• Assist youths to access services, programs and community resources.
• Support development of independent living, communication, social and life skills.
• Encourage participation in education, training, employment, recreation and community activities.
• Provide mentoring and encouragement to promote confidence and decision-making.
• Monitor progress, maintain case notes and coordinate with families and professionals.

Certificate III/IV in Individual Support

Certificate III/IV in Community Services

Diploma of Community Services

Certificate III/IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention
