Job summary

Kanda is seeking caring, patient and resilient people to support children and young people across the Fraser Coast. You’ll be part of a team focused on safety, respect and positive outcomes.

Your shifts may involve getting everyone ready for school, preparing meals, helping with homework, attending appointments or supporting participation in activities. You’ll help with routines, life skills and staying calm in challenging moments.

Qualifications

• You’ll hold a current Australian driver’s licence (minimum P2).
• You’ll have a Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or be willing to obtain).
• You’ll have First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• You’ll have completed or be enrolled in Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work or related qualification.
• You’ll have experience supporting people with complex behaviours using trauma-informed, person-centred approaches.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with daily routines and life skills.
• Assist with school readiness, meals, appointments and participation in activities.
• Stay calm and manage challenging behaviours while ensuring safety.
• Work as part of a team and follow individual support plans.
