Job summary

Kanda is seeking dedicated helpers to support children and young people in a nurturing, child-safe environment. You will assist with routines, meals, schooling activities and personal development while working within supportive local teams.

Applicants should have WWC Blue Card, NDIS checks, First Aid/CPR and a relevant qualification; willingness to gain required certifications is essential. A variety of shifts including sleepovers are expected.

Qualifications

• Hold a current Australian driver’s licence (minimum P2).
• Have a Working with Children Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain them.
• Have a current First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Have completed or be enrolled in a minimum Certificate IV in Community Services, Youth Work, Social Work or related.
• Experience supporting people with complex behaviours using trauma-informed, person-centred approaches.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with daily routines and activities.
• Help with school preparation, appointments, training and hobbies.
• Maintain safety and manage challenging situations while keeping respectful relationships.
