Job summary

Darebin City Council is seeking a Senior Team Leader Youth Programs to oversee youth services including Youth Outreach, The Hub Youth Space and Decibels Music and Arts Studio. You will shape planning, develop processes and lead a diverse team to deliver high‑quality services to Darebin’s youth and community.

Key requirements include a relevant tertiary qualification, proven leadership in youth settings, and strong communication to engage diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Experience leading, coaching and supporting teams in youth or community services.
• Ability to plan, develop, manage and evaluate youth programs within timeframes and budgets.
• Knowledge of trends and legislation affecting young people; reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and lead youth programs.
• Recruit, lead, support, supervise and mentor staff to serve youth and the community.
• Support updates to systems, policies and procedures for safe operation of programs and spaces.
• Maximise youth and community use through targeted promotion.
• Engage stakeholders to identify priority issues and opportunities.
• Contribute to department planning and leadership group activities.
• Monitor program budget and provide expenditure and performance reports.
• Other duties as directed within the role's capabilities.
