Job summary

The Y is seeking an experienced Youth Worker ready to move into a leadership role in Western Sydney. You will design and lead high-quality youth programs, manage the Y Space operations, and nurture young people’s leadership and confidence.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in a relevant field required.
• Experience with young people in community or education settings.
• Current NSW Driver's Licence and Working With Children Check recommended.

Responsibilities

• Design, coordinate and deliver engaging youth programs and activities.
• Manage the day-to-day operation of the Western Sydney Y Space.
• Support young people to develop leadership skills and confidence.
• Measure program outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Manage program budgets and resources responsibly.
• Lead and develop people: guide a small team of Youth Workers.
• Foster a positive, collaborative team culture.
• Coach staff to deliver outstanding youth engagement experiences.
• Support volunteers and emerging youth leaders.
• Create partnerships with schools, councils and community organisations.
• Participate in youth networks and community initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to grow programs and increase participation.
• Advocate for the needs of young people within the local community.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, compliance and risk management.
• Create inclusive, welcoming and child-safe environments.
• Ensure programs align with Y policies and procedures.
