Job summary

TAFE Gippsland invites applications for a Student Pathways Advisor. Based across Leongatha (2 days) and Yallourn, Morwell or Traralgon (3 days), you’ll support young people with career plans, pathways, education, apprenticeships and employment opportunities.

You will build partnerships with schools and communities, deliver tailored guidance, and help students navigate enrolment while travelling to campuses as needed.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Career Development required or higher; Graduate Certificate highly regarded.
• Experience in career advice, student pathways support or youth engagement.
• Knowledge of VCE, VPC, VET, apprenticeships and employment pathways.
• Ability to provide individualised and culturally safe support to diverse young people.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent organisation and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored career advice and pathway guidance to young people.
• Support students to explore education, training, apprenticeship and employment opportunities.
• Help young people navigate enrolment and connect with support services.
• Build relationships with schools, families and community organisations.
• Engage with young people through regular check-ins and progress updates.
• Participate in career events, expos and community outreach.
• Collaborate across TAFE Gippsland to support transitions for young people.
