Job summary

Mind Australia is seeking a compassionate Community Mental Health Practitioner to join our Caboolture team, supporting young people aged 16–21 experiencing mental health challenges to achieve personal recovery goals. You will provide person-centred, recovery‑oriented support in a 24/7 rotating roster, including weekends and overnight shifts.

This fixed-term, part-time role (19 hours/week) offers an hourly rate of $40.49–$43.42 plus 12% super and benefits.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Peer work, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
• Experience supporting young people with mental health challenges and interacting with families and carers.
• Understanding of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practice.
• A current First Aid and CPR certification.
• A Current Blue card and NDIS Workers Screening Check, or willingness to obtain.
• A current Australian Driver’s licence.
• Ability to provide evidence of required vaccinations in accordance with Queensland Health partnership requirements.

• Support young people to develop daily living skills, routines, confidence and independence.
• Build positive relationships that promote safety, trust, wellbeing and recovery.
• Support young people to strengthen their social and community connections.
• Apply trauma-informed and recovery-oriented approaches to support individual goals.
• Work collaboratively with young people, families, carers and internal/external services.
• Engage young people in meaningful one-on-one and group activities that support their personalised recovery goals.
