Job summary
Melbourne Health’s Custodial FYMHS seeks an experienced Nurse Practitioner to deliver advanced mental health care for young people in Victoria's Youth Justice system across Parkville, Cherry Creek and Malmsbury precincts.
The 12-month fixed-term backfill offers autonomous practice, clinical leadership and care coordination in a multidisciplinary team focused on trauma-informed, culturally safe care from custody to community.
Qualifications
- Current registration and endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner with the NMBA.
- Extensive experience in advanced mental health clinical practice.
- Ability to prescribe medications and manage investigations and care.
- Experience in youth/forensic/custodial health is desirable.
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced mental health assessment and management for youth with complex needs.
- Practise autonomously within NP scope, including prescribing and coordination.
- Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams in complex case management.
- Collaborate with youth, families and partner services for transitions from custody to community.
- Contribute to supervision, education and quality improvement in FYMHS.
