Job summary

Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the Custodial Forensic Youth Mental Health Service (FYMHS) for a 12-month parental leave backfill across Parkville, Cherry Creek and Malmsbury Youth Justice Precincts. Base salary is $160k per annum plus super and salary packaging.

Qualifications

• Current registration and endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Substantial experience in advanced mental health clinical practice with complex presentations.
• Strong clinical reasoning, consultation and leadership within multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to evidence-based, trauma-informed, culturally safe care for youth.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced mental health assessment, diagnostic formulation and treatment for youths with complex needs.
• Practise autonomously within NP scope, including prescribing, investigations and care coordination.
• Offer clinical supervision and leadership to multidisciplinary teams.
• Collaborate with families, carers and partner services to support transitions from custody to community.
• Contribute to service development, QA initiatives and development of advanced nursing practice.
